Dr. Joel Chasen grew up in Cheshire, CT. After graduating from Choate Rosemary Hall in 1992 he moved to Atlanta where he earned his Bachelor’s degree from Emory University. He then went on to obtain his DMD degree from the Harvard School of Dental Medicine where he graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2000. Continuing his education in Boston, he completed his specialty training in endodontics (root canals) at the Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine. After finishing his training in Boston, Dr. Chasen moved back to Cheshire to join Advanced Endodontics of Connecticut. He has been in full-time private practice limited to endodontics ever since.

Although he focuses most of his energy into his passion for clinical endodontics, Dr. Chasen has also involved himself in scientific research. He has performed studies on the factors that influence the success/failure of endodontic treatment, and investigated the possible link between endodontic disease and cardiovascular disease. His research has been published in the Journal of Dental Research as well as the Journal of Endodontics.

Dr. Chasen is a specialist member of the American Association of Endodontists, a past-president of the Meriden-Wallingford-Cheshire Dental society, and currently sits on the board of directors of the Schilder Institute for the Advancement of Endodontics. He has been repeatedly recognized as a "Top Endodontist" by Connecticut Magazine and the USA topDentists survey. He enjoys learning about and playing with technology and spending time with his wife and two sons.
